★VERY IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION

“I support the intent of this important legislation for the following reasons…..

However, I do not support the bill that you have posted on your agenda for today.
The posted bill should be amended to mirror the revised bill that was transmitted to your committee on January 17th.”

★THIS IS WHY
Councilmember Riki Hokama scheduled a hearing for the bill but purposely did not place the the amended, improved and requested version to be heard.

Councilmember Elle Cochran met with Riki and specifically requested that he hear the new one. It is important to DEMAND that the latest amended version be scheduled ASAP.

The meeting starts at 9am, Jan. 28. You are called to testify depending on where your name falls on the sign in sheet. We’re not sure if HC&S or Monsanto will bus in employees as happened on Kauai. There will likely be many hours of testimony. You can come later in the day and likely still be able to testify.

•Mandatory disclosure of pesticides and genetically modified organisms.

•Pesticide buffer zones.

•Environmental and public health impacts study

•Worker protection standards

•Pesticide pre-application good neighbor courtesy notices
